For me, Tuesday night was the best night of the entire season so far. We haven’t had a night like that since the A-Rod homer off of Papelbon in Boston.
I haven’t heard a Yankee crowd like that all year. They were great, we are the best fans in the world. They freaking carried Pettitte, who was on a Nolan Ryan pitch count tonight. They got on Damon a little and they booed the crap out of Farns, rightly so on both accounts. It doesn’t get any better than YS fans.
The Yankees won on a Robbie Cano opposite field single, putting them 8 games back, 7 in the loss column, of the Red Sox. The Yanks have won 10 of 13, 4 in a row and they can make it four series wins in a row with a win Wednesday. And, they are 5-1 on the 29 game stretch vs. <.500 teams.
Winning games you shouldn’t win always seems to uplift a club. The June Yankees lose last night 2-1. This is a new half and a new team.
Plus, their adjust record has them 15 games over .500. There has to be a correction sometime.
I’ve been saying it for a while now, but we are getting Phil Huges back on the 28th, Giambi in 3-4 weeks and could add a peice at the trade deadline. We have to win and we have to win now, when those guys get back we will roll.
