If you listened to my segment on NY Baseball Talk Wednesday, then you’ve already heard this.
If not, listen up.
My key to the ALDS is very simple: the Yanks should start Ace Chien-Ming Wang on three days rest in Gm. 4 in New York. Wang has a 2.75 ERA at YS this year and his sinker is even more deadly when he is on short rest. That leaves Andy Pettitte on regular rest in Gm. 5. I like Pettitte better than Wang in Gm. 5 anyway you slice it, so why waste Wang?
The Yankees didn’t do this last year and lost badly with Jaret Wright on the mound in Gm. 4 in Detroit. Do you want the season to end back-to-back years with the worst SP on the mound? Niether do I.
